Qualifications: M.B.B.S. Melb FRANZCOG
Dr Cullen trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) at The Mercy Hospital for Women, Melbourne and Kent Canterbury Hospital, United Kingdom. On returning from overseas in 1987 he move directly to Bendigo where he has been consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in private and public practice for 21 years.
Dr Cullen developed a keen interest in operative laparoscopy and endometriosis surgery and this has become a major part of his private practice, initially nurtured by a preceptorship with Prof Carl Wood in the early 1990�s.
Along with Bendigo colleagues, this interest has allowed the provision of an up to date laparoscopic endometriosis management and fertility surgery to Bendigo and Central Victoria. It also lead to the commencement of Monash IVF in Bendigo in 1991.
Dr Cullen has visiting medical officer appointment in O&G at St John of God Private Hospital Bendigo, The Bendigo Private Day Centre and at The Bendigo Hospital where he is the current Clinical Director of O&G. He is also a visiting gynaecologist at the Echuca District Hospital and at the Epworth Hospital Richmond.
Dr Cullen is the immediate past Bendigo RANZCOG Training supervisor and is current the coordinator and lecturer of O&G student teaching for Monash University Medical School Bendigo Campus.
